Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect only what's needed to deliver your orders and run the marketplace — and we never sell your data.

1. Who we are
GetZavi (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates a WhatsApp-native marketplace that connects customers with local vendors and freelance riders across Nigeria and the wider African continent. You can reach us at hello@getzavi.store.
2. What we collect
We collect only what is necessary to deliver the service you asked for:
- Account data — your WhatsApp phone number, name (when you provide it), preferred city / delivery area, and a 4-digit transaction PIN. Riders and vendors additionally provide government-issued ID images, business / shop details, and a bank account for payouts.
- Order data — items ordered, delivery address (typed or live-location), order totals, payment method, payment references, and status timestamps (placed → confirmed → delivered).
- Conversation data — messages exchanged with our AI assistant Zavi inside WhatsApp. We use these to fulfil orders, route deliveries, train product search, and improve the service.
- Media you send — photos and voice notes you share to find products or upload listings. These are stored on a secure object store (Amazon S3 with restricted access).
- Operational data — minimal logs (timestamps, error codes, message-delivery status) required to operate and debug the platform.
3. What we don't collect
- WhatsApp messages exchanged outside of GetZavi chats.
- Your contacts list or your WhatsApp profile picture.
- Background location, microphone or camera access — there's no app to install.
- Card details. Payments are processed by our payment processor; card numbers never touch our servers.
4. How we use your data
- To find products, route orders, and deliver them to you.
- To process payments, refunds, payouts and wallet top-ups.
- To notify you about your orders, deliveries, and account.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access to the platform.
- To improve Zavi's ability to understand requests (search relevance, intent classification, the accuracy of address/area matching) — using aggregated, de-identified usage signals where possible.
5. Who we share data with
We share only what is needed for an order to reach you. For example: a vendor sees the items you ordered and the delivery address; a rider sees the pickup location, dropoff location, and your phone number to coordinate hand-off. We do not sell your data to advertisers or third-party data brokers.
The processors we use to run the service:
- Meta / WhatsApp Cloud API — to deliver messages.
- Flutterwave — to process payments and wallet payouts.
- Amazon Web Services (S3) — to store media you upload.
- OpenAI + Anthropic — to power Zavi's natural-language understanding.
- AssemblyAI — to transcribe voice notes you send.
6. How we secure data
- All traffic between your device, WhatsApp, and our servers is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+).
- Sensitive fields (PIN, bank account, BVN) are encrypted at rest using AES-256.
- Access to production systems is limited to a small, named set of engineers and is audit-logged.
7. How long we keep your data
Order, payment and tax-relevant records are retained for as long as required by Nigerian tax and financial regulations (currently 7 years). Conversation logs are retained for 90 days for support and abuse review, then deleted. You can ask us to delete your account at any time — see “Your rights” below.
8. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing privacy@getzavi.store from the WhatsApp number associated with your account. We will respond within 14 days. Where deletion would conflict with legal record-keeping obligations (e.g. financial records), we will explain what we can and cannot delete.
9. Children
GetZavi is not intended for users under 18. If you believe a child is using the service, please contact us and we will close the account.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change the way we handle your data we'll update this page and, where the change is material, send you a notice on WhatsApp. Continued use of GetZavi after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
